Description

Nordic Components’ 22RB dedicated 22 upper receiver converts your standard AR-pattern lower to a dedicated .22LR for recreational shooting, training, and hunting. The 22RB is manufactured using the same materials as most standard AR15 rifles, ensuring that it is a dedicated .22 upper that looks and feels like a centerfire rifle.

SUPPRESSOR READY!

The 22RB’s match-grade barrel also comes prepared to accept a suppressor β€” the barrel threads are cut to the proper spec for most popular .22 suppressors, and a mortise to accommodate the O-rings found on certain suppressor models is machined behind the threads.

This upper has surpassed my wildest expectations. The quality of the parts is evident even before shooting the upper, after shooting there is no question. Upper came securely packed and with ample information. The bolt assembly is very robust and well thought out. The slim handguard has a minimalist feel while still being sturdy. The

For me, the 9.25″ upper was a perfect addition to an SBR’d lower. The fact that the barrel was threaded to proper length for .22 suppressors was great, as was the o-ring tenon cut for use with several of my .22 cans.

The overall quality of this upper along with the smoothness of function have made it one of my go-to rifles for plinking.

I bought mine several years ago and it has been fantastic! Shoots as good or better than any 22 out there and digests nearly anything you feed it. Quality of workmanship is unbelievable.

I have a DMPS and JPNC22 uppers both of which use the Nordic upper and bolt. Both rifles I use for Rimfire 2-Gun competitions and both have worked flawlessly when other rifles failed. I am interested in the newer bolt system and the fact you can use a Milspec upper to build out a rifle.

I bought one of these uppers a few months ago and didn’t have great expectations. Man have I been impressed with this upper. I’ve shot many different types of ammo with this, the only issue i have had is with really low velocity ammo that I was shooting suppressed, It didn’t want to fully eject it, But all of the high & standard velocity has not had any issues. I will probably be buying another one of these, because my wife and son are always wanting to shoot it. just break out the credit card and buy one, you won’t be disappointed.

This thing is a tack driver right out of the box. Dime sized groups at twenty five yds. with every ammo i feed it. Cycled the hotter subsonics well. Machine work is flawless, i only wish the bolt release would function with this upper

Just purchased the NC 22RB . Great Addition to my AR-15 !!! I can now shoot 500 rounds for $50.00 in my back yard, While still using my .223 lower / target trigger. Best group so far was 20 shots that you could completely cover with a quarter at 25 yards, using CCI STD velocity ammo. The Quality is excellent, and the upper has ran flawless using standard or higher velocity ammo. I couldn’t be any happier with my purchase.

Just purchased the NC 22RB complete upper. The Quality is excellent ! Great addition to my AR-15. I can now shoot 500 rounds for about $50.00 in my back yard, using my .223 lower that has a Wilson Combat TRTTU trigger. The gun has ran flawless for the 100 rounds or so of STD velocity or higher velocity ammo that I’ve shot thru it so far. My best group has been a 20 shot group of CCI standard velocity at 25 yards that you could completely cover with a quarter. I only wish the bolt release would function with this upper. Otherwise, I couldn’t be happier with my purchase.

The NC22RB Dedicated Upper is an excellent piece of equipment. Fit and finish are great. Weight is very nice and what you would expect from an AR Type set up. I prefer the appropriate heft in that it is much more like my normal AR’s. My groups at 25 yds with CCI Tactical 10 rounds, one ragged hole. At 50 yards with 7 types of target ammo, groups were about 1″ +/-. The CCI Std Velocity shot the best with a 1/2″ group. CCI Mini Mags 40 gr Solids were in the 1″ or less group size. I am very pleased. When the barrel gets more broken in, i will shoot groups again. I am very pleased with the NC22. It is a great piece of equipment. I would purchase again and would and have recommended to my friends.

I just got mine last week from Grab a Gun. Craftsmanship is exceptional.

I mounted some iron sights on it and took it out today. I ran 150 rounds of CCI, Federal, and Blazer. Not one malfunction and you can cover every group with a quarter. To my surprise, the Blazer 40 grain gave me the tightest group.

This is a quality 22LR upper.

The most fun, stupid grin inducing rifle I own.
As previously stated, the fit and finish are superlative. Ran just about every ammo I cared to put through it, and accuracy was pretty remarkable.
Mated up perfect with Palmetto State lower (La Rue MTB trigger) I threw a Holoson ACSS reticled red dot on top as I intended to use it as a trainer for my primary.

Own the 9.25 since December of last year. Owned the smith & wesson 22lr AR sold it right after getting this upper. This upper is way better crafted i think. Works great with the Black Dog Machine drum mag. Have the upper on a fmk firearms polymer lower and just an burris fastfire red dot. Super fun and accurate to shoot. I defiantly want the 16 inch upper. By far a great upper and the price you cant go wrong.

This is the second Nordic .22 upper I purchased. That should tell you something right there. My two uppers operate flawlessly so far, and cycle all the rounds I put through it. I use only copper jacketed rounds but that is only to keep cleanup easier. Besides being a great plinking weapon, it is ideal for AR-15 training. Now with two, my buddies and I can practice maneuver shooting without wasting more expensive .223 ammo. And BTW, since .22 is a rimfire ammo, this is NOT an assault rifle” in California and can be shot at any accommodating range without fear.

I’ve been eyeing this upper for over a year & finally picked one up last week. I shoot a 1″ or smaller group at 50 yards w/ Aguila subsonic ammunition & suppressor attached. I was able to shoot just about any brand of ammunition with no problems except for Remington golden bullets. They fail to feed 100% of the time and it appears that the diameter of the bullet itself is a hair to large. Even though I have quite a few of those on hand, I can shoot them through my other .22 firearms. I love this upper & couldn’t be happier.

A friend of mine bought a complete (upper/lower) Tactical Carbine that was just introduced by another well knowm Midwest manufacturer. He ranted and raved to me about it. It renewed my interest in getting an AR 22 for practice. I did not need nor want to by a complete rifle ($$$). so I shopped and found your 22RB upper. I have plenty of good lowers and this seemed like the right choice for me. Was I sooo right. The quality is exceptional and the accuracy is more than I could ask for. My friend now regrets his choice. It’s a little sadistic, but that makes me happy!

Quality components but the mouth of the chamber is cut so sharp above the feed ramp that lead gets shaved off the bullets as they try to enter the chamber and many times they just don’t go in. Once enough lead builds up there it runs better but what really needs to be done (and what I did) is to put a slight bevel on the chamber mouth above the feed ramp. After doing that it started running 100%, even with cheap ammo.

I bought my nordic comp a few years back because I wanted to train for CMP/High Power Service rifle matches on the cheap and I’ve been very pleased. The accuracy of the rifle exceeds my abilities and it cycles as reliably as any other .22 rifle I’ve ever owned. Even better, the quick removal bolt is easy to clean on the fly and keep shooting, just yank it out, wipe off the .22LR grime, and you’re back in business. Easier to keep running than any of my other .22 rifles.

The handguards are nice and rigid and even with tight sling pressure, my handguard mounted front sight holds steady zero. The rifle is weighty and feels just like the “real” thing. I’ve been saving a ton of cash shooting reduced sized targets at 50 yards and this upper has easily payed for itself multiple times over, especially as 5.56 prices have skyrocketed.

I also earned my Winterseed with distinguished rocker using this upper and iron sights. Felt a bit unfair using this upper with my lower and a 2-stage match trigger when other folks where shooting 10/22s and Marlins. No regrets with this purchase one bit.

I’m only a bit jealous that by the time I recommended my father in law purchase one himself, they were shipping with M-Lock handguards, making a great upper even better. Buy now and you won’t look back.

This is the best .22 upper I have ever tried πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘

I wanted a dedicated 22lr AR upper that was built like a tank, reliable, accurate, compatible with M-Lok accessories, and has the same heft as a 5.56 AR, if not the same recoil. That’s exactly what I got. Out of the box, the first impression is one of impeccable quality. The handguard, bolt carrier group, barrel, and upper receiver all speak to ruggedness and attention to detail. So far mine has run flawlessly with bulk ammo, and with a low power variable optic and the milspec trigger in my lower I’ve been able to hit a 2-inch diameter gong at 75 yards with ease. The Black Dog Machine bolt saver is a nice and thoughtful touch. I’ve seen other comments saying the handguard is not M-Lok compatible, but Nordic Components must have fixed that because the Magpul vertical grip I’ve installed on mine works perfectly.

Room for improvement (these are extremely minor gripes that in no way detract from the product):

First, it’s nice that the charging handle is compatible with aftermarket latches, but it would be even better if it were fully ambidextrous for left-handed shooters or shooters who want to practice with their off-hand, and I feel this would be a relatively easy improvement for Nordic Components to make. I’m right-handed but if Nordic Components came out with a Gen2 charging handle that was ambidextrous, I would certainly buy it.

Second, some sort of adapter or replacement bolt catch that would make the bolt catch operational with this upper would be much appreciated. It would be nice to be able to manually lock back the bolt, even if the bolt catch did not function in the same way as the last round bolt hold open of a centerfire AR, or even a Smith and Wesson 15-22 for that matter (and by the way, if you’re trying to decide between this and the S&W 15-22, buy this. You won’t regret it).

Overall, stellar product! 5 stars fully deserved.
