If there is a better free float system on the market for less than $100 I dont know what it is. This installs easily with standard tools, and clocks/locks on the barrel nut with a simple lock nut design. Weight is slightly higher than the more skeletonized style rails available on the market, but the unit is extremely robust. 5/5 when considering cost, strength, and aesthetics, and ease of installation.

Purchased a stock M&P 15 and spent some time collecting bits to upgrade to a semi-custom competition rifle. I won’t bore you with all the parts and mods but I got the rifle length tube and installed it on my rifle after swapping the barrel for a .223 wylde 1:8 stainless fluted beauty and a low profile adjustable gas block. This free float tube installed easily with the usual tools and fit and finish are fantastic. Color matches perfectly with the upper receiver. Bought a 12″ rail to install on the top and now have rail space from the charging handle to the end of the hand guard. Also bought a few shorter rail pieces for extra accessories in the future. My $600 basic rifle now looks like a rifle that was double or even triple that cost, and functions like it too thanks to a few other smart upgrades. Bottom line is, I would buy it again and recommend Nordic tubes to anyone looking to build a nice clean rifle. Now can we get it in some other colors? Lol.

Nice looking hand guard. Perfect length for my 10.5 inch 300 AAC build that allows me to release my suppressor’ ratchet mount. I have a couple issues though. I mounted a short NC rail section at 12 o’clock for my BUIS and the one tapped hole feels like it is on the verge of stripping out; i.e. torque is not building up. The other “issue” is the ease or rather difficulty in getting the timing just right. By tapping the jam nut tight, the hand guard would move ever so slightly out of time with the upper and took four tries to get it perfect. But like I said it looks great and for the price, an awesome deal.

This can be modified to work with a PMACA 10/22 Chassis via some dremel or file and saw work to make a very cool looking 10/22 Bull Barrel carbine with retractable stock. My advice is to locate the forward hole and then use a ‘flat’ nut and bolt for the rear hole closest to the chassis.
